Questionnaire Design

Questionnaires offer a practical method of gaining information in a structured plan and can be managed without the direct support of an interviewer. They have advantages over some other types of surveys in that they are cheap, do not require as much effort from the questioner as verbal or telephone surveys, and often have standardized answers that make it simple to compile data.

Questionnaire Design can be used to:

  • find out something about your product or service that you had previously not identified
  • obtain information on consumers’ relative preferences
  • predict what products or services consumers will choose and assess the weight they give to various factors that underlie their decisions

Questionnaire Design can be used to answer questions such as:

  • How can I make sure all respondents interpret the question in the same way?
  • How can I make sure I don’t offend the respondent?
  • When should I use closed questions and when should I use open questions?

The course content includes data collection, sampling strategies, use of language & question wording, question types and the coding frame.

Both our standard and bespoke courses are suitable for those with no prior knowledge of Questionnaire Design or for those who require a refresher programme.
